As an Occupational Therapist, you'll help patients improve function, independence, and quality of life following illness, injury, or other challenges.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide therapeutic interventions based on patient needs and goals.
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as appropriate.
• Educate patients and families on exercises, strategies, and adaptive techniques.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Document evaluations, treatments, and patient progress accurately.
• Promote safe transitions and continuity of care.
• Participate in quality improvement and professional development.

What We're Looking For

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Current Wisconsin OT license.
• Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Valid Driver’s license in the State of Wisconsin.

POSITION PURPOSE

• Evaluates patients and formulates individualized treatment programs in coordination with the physician’s participation. Implements activities designed to help patients regain physical or mental functioning or adjust to their handicaps. Maintains patient records. Assists in program development. Assists in maintaining appropriate equipment inventory. Directs aides and students as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED

• Bachelors Degree in: Occupational Therapy

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Entry Level

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• Current certification to practice as O.T.R. by State of Wisconsin.
• Valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Wisconsin and/or Illinois based on job assignment location.
• Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Ability to direct and carry out individualized patient evaluation and treatment (involves professional knowledge/ judgment, physical abilities, dexterity, ability to maneuver in the environment.)
• Ability to maintain patient documentation throughout the course of treatment.
• Physical, technical, and cognitive ability to operate OT equipment and modalities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, hospital administrators, staff, and others.
• Administers medications in a timely manner, safely and in accordance with policy and procedure.
• Receives and records verbal orders from licensed independent practitioners for orders that are specific to the services provided by their department.
