Job Summary

Registered Nurse – Operating Room Open Heart. This travel assignment supports open-heart surgery services, with responsibilities including independent first scrubbing for cardiac procedures and functioning as a circulator. The role primarily supports open-heart cases and may assist with other operating room specialties as needed.

Job Details

• Schedule: Four 10-hour day shifts, 6:45 a.m.–5:15 p.m., for a minimum of 40 hours per week. Shift times may adjust to accommodate the open-heart operating room schedule.
• Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of cardiovascular operating room experience; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; cardiac/open-heart surgery experience with the ability to work independently; proficiency in first scrubbing cardiac and open-heart procedures; circulating experience; electronic medical record charting experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; general operating room or hybrid operating room experience; experience with endovascular, neuro-spine, ear, nose, and throat, orthopedic, robotic, thoracic, or vascular procedures.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Call coverage is required, with weeknight call extending from the end of the shift until 6:30 a.m. and weekend call from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. Call assignments are scheduled within the open-heart team. The primary assignment is open-heart surgery, with potential support for urology, gynecology, dental, robotic, plastics, ear, nose, and throat, general, vascular, thoracic, pulmonary, orthopedic, pain, or podiatry procedures. Adult patients are served. Scrub responsibilities are required, and circulator duties are also included. The assignment period is 11/30/2026 through 03/01/2027.
