Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium, MI is seeking a SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST or STERILE PROCESSING TECHNICIAN to join our team!

Duties for a Surgical Technologist include, but are not limited to:

• Assists RN and physician during operative and invasive procedures
• Cleans and sterilizes surgical instruments
• Ensures availability and condition of supplies.
• This position will work in the OR and Endoscopy.

Duties for a sterile Processing Technician include, but are not limited to:

• Decontaminates, cleans, assembles, wraps, and sterilizes equipment, supplies and instruments
• Assures the availability of supplies for surgery through procedural case cart preparation.
• Practice professional and courteous social skills in interactions with surgical personnel during and after intense situations.
• Responsible for monitoring and documenting processing activities.

HOURS:

Full Time; 0.8 FTE or 64 hours per pay period. Day shift, call, holiday rotation.

Experience/Qualifications

• Knowledge of patient care standards normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Surgical Techs: we will consider new grads!
• Sterile Processing Techs: prior sterile processing experience or a graduate of a sterile processing tech program is required.
• BLS certification preferred.
