Job Summary

Progressive Care Unit - Night-shift position in a high-acuity surgical step-down setting. The role supports patients requiring complex monitoring, multiple drains and tubes, and intravenous infusions, with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1 and occasional 3:1 assignments.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., every other weekend, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Thanksgiving and one additional winter holiday are required.
• Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; willingness and ability to manage chest tubes, arterial lines, peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) lines, other central lines, ostomies, tracheostomy tubes, nasogastric (NG) tubes, wound vacuums, drains, and intravenous infusions, including heparin, insulin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, and diltiazem.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in an intensive care setting and experience with the facility’s electronic health record system.
• Additional Information: The position is based in a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical step-down unit. Candidates should be prepared to care for complex patients requiring advanced devices, multiple drains, and titratable infusions.
