The Department of Family and Community Medicine seeks a Clinical Research Coordinator to join our team. The person in this position will collaborate in part on research led by Dr. Sarah Woods (PI) focused on explaining how family relationships influence physical health, with a particular emphasis on psychophysiological mechanisms linking family relationship quality to adult health outcomes. The aim of this research is to inform family-based interventions for use in primary care, especially for patient populations at greatest risk of health disparities. The Clinical Research Coordinator will also partner on work led by Dr. Nora Gimpel focused on Student-Run Free Clinics in the community. UTSW and community organizations collaborate to implement student-run free clinics (SRFCs) and provide valuable clinical learning experiences, community connections and insight, research experience, leadership development, and needed public health services to the underserved across North Texas. This work is supported by McKesson Foundation. Medical students are required to engage in scholarly activity as part of the medical training. Responsibilities will include coordinating research activities and timelines, supporting data collection and analysis, developing and maintaining research reports, assisting students and faculty with manuscript preparation and submission, and coordinating abstract development and submissions for conferences and other scholarly forums. The Clinical Research Coordinator will also help ensure consistent research practices across clinics, facilitate dissemination of research findings, and support students in developing scholarly products that contribute to the advancement of community-engaged research and the health of underserved populations.
