A Brief Overview

Performs slide review of GYN and Non-GYN specimens. Assists on Rapid On-site Evaluations (R.O.S.E.). Ability to perform all Cytology Processor functions. Perform Imager maintenance and maintain QA documents. Examines and evaluates microscopic preparations of cytology specimens.

What You Will Do

• Uses microscope to examine cellular samples and identify abnormalities according to departmental protocols.
• Records findings in laboratory information system.
• Communicates pertinent section information/issues to supervisor, manager or other appropriate individual.
• Assists in documentation and maintaining effective department QA/QC programs and monitors.
• Exercise all laboratory safety precautions and adhere to lab procedures as stated in procedure manuals.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in biological or chemical science or requirement specific in CLIA '88 to perform high complexity testing and ASCP certification or equiv. (Required)

Work Experience

• Previous experience as a cytotechnologist (Preferred) or

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Demonstrated proficiency with pattern recognition and manual dexterity. (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

• ASCP Certification as a cytotechnologist (CT) (Required)
