Registerd Nurse - Mother/Baby

Overview

Shift: Part Time (0.6); 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM

Join our team as a Mother/Baby Nurse! Our Maternal Child unit provides a supportive, team-focused environment across Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, and our Level II NSCU. With approximately 1,000 deliveries each year, our team provides comprehensive care to moms and babies with dedicated OR suites, 24/7 OB Hospitalist coverage, and CRNA support.

Mother/Baby nurses care for postpartum and gynecological patients, rotate through the Core Nursery, and assist with deliveries. We offer a preceptor-led orientation, 12-hour shifts, every third weekend and holiday rotation, limited floating within Maternal Child, and flexible scheduling to support work-life balance.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient and family needs, provide education, and coordinate referrals to ensure continuity of care.
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care utilizing the nursing process, clinical expertise, and evidence-based practice.
• Monitor patient conditions, apply critical thinking skills, and make independent clinical judgments to support positive patient outcomes.
• Accurately and promptly document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
• Delegate and coordinate patient care activities while providing guidance and support to other healthcare team members.
• Promote patient safety and education by utilizing age-appropriate teaching strategies, preventing errors and infections, and supporting patients and families throughout their care journey.

Qualifications

Education

• Diploma from an RN program.

License(s)/Certification(s)

• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state.
• Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state.
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must possess and maintain ACLS
