Surgical Technologist - Portland, OR

Northwest Ambulatory Surgery Center has an immediate need for a full time Surgical Technologist.

Job Summary: Responsible for ensuring proper care and use of surgical instruments. A nticipates the needs of the surgical team. Establishes and maintains sterile field during surgical procedures in the operating room.

Required Skills

• High School diploma or GED.
• Completion of an appropriate surgical technician program. Certification or Surgical Technician training from the military is required.
• 2+ years Surgical Technician experience. Experience in orthopedic and total joint procedures is needed.
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred
• Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
• Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians
• BLS accredited by AHA
