The medical laboratory technician performs laboratory procedures in a timely and accurate manner according to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education
- Educational Pathway (I)
- Required
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Associates degree in Medical (or clinical) Laboratory Technician
- Educational Pathway (II)
- Required
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or related field
- Educational Pathway (III)
- Required
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- US Military Program, Medical Laboratory Training
- Required if not graduate accredited civilian program
Experience: N/A
Certification/Licensure
- Preferred
- Medical Technician/Clinical Laboratory Technician
ASCP Board of Registry Equivalent
