About the job
Position Summary
Under general supervision of Staff Pharmacist and according to precise procedures, assists Pharmacists in filling prescriptions by interpreting, preparing, and distributing medications.
Job Responsibilities
- Fills medication orders with appropriate medications
- Delivers unit dose medication and sterile products to appropriate location on nursing units.
- Insures items are stored appropriately on nursing units
- Fills automated dispensing cabinets accurately; adjusts quantities and expiration dates while stocking.
- Identifies items requiring repackaging and uses appropriate packager to package into unit dose containers.
Education/Experience
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Previous experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy for a min of 2 years.
- State of Indiana licensure as a Pharmacy Technician
