  • Recommend and implement educational initiatives, policy changes, and system improvements.
  • Coach clinical teams on safety goals and best practices.
  • Assist with writing abstracts and preparing presentations for clinical staff.

Preferred Criteria

  • Masters in Nursing or related field if already holds a BSN degree. Either bachelors of graduate degree must be in Nursing.
  • Experience investigating serious and near miss safety events, conducting RCAs, and developing interventions to improve systems/processes as indicated.
  • Skilled in supporting clinical staff with performance improvement publications and presentations.
  • Proficient in delivering clinical education related to quality and safety.

Required Criteria

  • Current New York State Registered Nurse License
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Clinical experience in related specialty with progressive responsibility and accountability
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in quality and patient safety methodologies and performance improvement management.
  • Proficient in presenting clinical updates/materials to clinical staff related to quality and patient safety.
  • Demonstrated ability to review literature and other validated sources/evidence of professional standards of care to make sure hospital policies/procedures are current.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork amongst diverse groups; to lead and or serve as team member/departmental representative.
  • Ability to adapt, flexible with assignment changes due to departmental needs and organizational quality and patient safety priorities.
