Job Summary

The Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse in a healthcare facility provides specialized care to women during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum, as well as neonatal and family support. This role involves assisting families through the birth process, supporting patients both during normal and problematic pregnancies, and delivering hands-on clinical care aligned with physician orders.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Valid nursing license; 2 years of experience in a labor and delivery setting; active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; and diploma or higher in nursing.
• Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with potential night shifts and call coverage.
• Responsibilities include assisting and educating patients and their families during the birth process, maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality, documenting clinical care appropriately, and supporting families during postpartum recovery.
• Additional clinical responsibilities include care for women during both normal and complicated pregnancies, supporting discharge planning, and providing guidance on postpartum care and neonatal support.
