Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation provides nursing care to critically ill patients. This role will also require floating to the Emergency Department, Medical/Surgical, or Pediatrics as necessary. The position involves the management of patients of all ages and supports their families as needed.

Responsibilities

• Administer nursing care and medical treatments in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
• Provide care in the 5 Bed Intensive Care Unit for critically ill patients.
• Support after-hours recovery of post-operative patients from general surgery, pediatrics, and obstetrics as required.
• Monitor and assess patients' conditions, implementing changes in treatment plans as needed.
• Document patient care activities in compliance with hospital policies and nursing standards.

Required Experience

• Must have at least 3 years of prior ICU experience.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current valid unrestricted RN license to practice nursing in any state in the USA.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be completed within six months of hire.
• Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) certification must be completed within six months of hire.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification must be completed within six months of hire.
