ARMStaffing is looking for a Surgical Technologist, Operating Room (Day Shift) in Palmer, Alaska.

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

Days, 6:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, 10 hours with rotating weekday off. Call required, no floating, and there are blackout periods for RTO during the week of Thanksgiving and Christmas with a maximum RTO of 2 weeks.

Job Description

The Surgical Technologist will be responsible for preparing the operating room, ensuring a sterile field, and setting up surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions for various surgical procedures. The role includes assisting with the passing of instruments, fluids, and managing surgical equipment, ensuring the sterile field is maintained, and performing counts of sponges and supplies to prevent retained objects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room, including equipment and supplies.
• Assist with surgical procedures by passing instruments and managing equipment.
• Maintain a sterile field throughout the procedures.
• Count sponges and supplies during surgery to prevent retained objects.

Required Experience

• 3+ years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Experience in orthopedics, general surgery, spine, vascular, urology, and OB procedures.
• Robot experience with DaVinci, Mako, and Globus systems preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist from a CAAHEP-accredited program or other recognized surgical technology program.
• National Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) examination certification is preferred.
