About the job

Overview

When you join Yale New Haven Health, you'll work alongside leaders in medicine and be part of the cutting edge of healthcare imaging. Through our Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging, we offer a unique paid residency program that combines advanced clinical training with structured didactic education.

This full-time paid employment opportunity is hosted directly through Yale New Haven Health and is not an academic degree program offered by Yale University, and p rovides board-certified radiologic technologists with the opportunity to pursue advanced modality training and post-primary certification while maintaining income and employee benefits.

Two hybrid pathways are available

  • 6-month Computed Tomography (CT) Residency
  • 12-month Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Residency

This program is designed for both new graduates seeking to launch their careers and experienced technologists looking to expand their expertise in a high-demand specialty area. Participants receive structured classroom education and hands-on clinical training that develops advanced imaging skills, strengthens critical thinking, and enhances patient care while preparing them for post-primary certification.

One of the biggest advantages of this program is the ability to earn a competitive salary while training:

  • Compensation based on experience
  • New graduate radiologic technologists start at $38.00 per hour
  • Experienced technologists are compensated according to their years of relevant experience and established pay rate
  • Full-time employee status and benefits throughout the residency
  • Advanced specialty training in MRI or CT at no cost to the participant

Upon successful completion of the residency program and post-primary certification boards, participants are eligible for consideration for available full-time or part-time positions within Yale New Haven Health and up to a $40,000 sign-on bonus , subject to program completion requirements, performance reviews and evaluations, and applicable organizational hiring guidelines. Employment placement and bonus eligibility are not guaranteed.
