Your Role

In this role, you will provide high-quality care to cardiac and cardiothoracic patients while working collaboratively with attending physicians and the interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include

• Manage inpatients on cardiac and cardiothoracic services under attending supervision
• Care for patients with myocardial infarction, acute coronary syndromes, and post-operative open-heart procedures
• Manage patients requiring mechanical circulatory support, including IABP and Impella
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and order and interpret diagnostic testing
• Interpret hemodynamics and participate in advanced procedures
• Provide pre- and post-operative management
• Support safe transitions of care across the continuum
• Educate patients, families, and staff
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and other members of the care team

What We’re Looking For

• Current Connecticut APRN or PA license
• DEA and controlled substance registration
• 2+ years of APP experience preferred
• Cardiovascular or cardiothoracic experience preferred
• First-assist experience/capabilities preferred
• Strong cardiovascular clinical knowledge and critical-thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
