Supplemental LPN Position Summary

The Supplemental LPN provides general nursing care to a diverse population of patients affected by cardiopulmonary, neurological, and surgical conditions. The Supplemental LPN works under the supervision of an RN to provide direct patient care. The Med Surg LPN participates, with the RN in planning care for a broad spectrum of patients.

Supplemental LPN Position Requirements

• Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Must hold a license in the state of permanent residency
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
• 1 year of LPN experience, preferably in a Nursing Home facility, is required.

Supplemental LPN Work Schedule

• May be assigned to day, evening, or night shifts or a combination per departmental policy.
• Required to work weekends per unit need.
• Expected to work overtime on occasion.
• Minimum Required Hours:
• STEM Nurse

A. Ninety-six (96) hours per 8-week unit schedule consisting of 4 pay periods are the minimum requirement.

B. Twenty-four (24) weekend hours per 8-week period

C. Minimum of 1 (12) hour holiday OR 2 (8) hour hard to fill shifts from group 1 AND group 2 per year.

D. Orientation and education hours do not count towards the monthly requirement.

E. Hours will be tracked by the STEM staffing office.

Supplemental LPN Benefits
