Responsibilities

• Under the general supervision of a physician, and using established and approved protocols.
• Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care to LTAC patients
• Coordinate care with consulting specialists and interdisciplinary teams
• Perform admissions, daily rounds, and discharges as needed
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the EMR

Requirements

Education/Licensure/Certifications

• Graduate of Accredited School offering an Advanced Degree in Nurse Practice (ARNP) and current, unrestricted California NP license OR
• Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program and current California State Physician Assistant License, issued by Physician Assistant Board under the Medical Board of California
• Current DEA certificate without restriction
• ACLS required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Two years related NP/PA experience preferred.
• Ability to prioritize and establish work standards and business goals.
• Ability to relate to patients, their families, and members of the healthcare team in a tactful and professional manner
• Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques
• Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment
• Effective verbal and written communication skills along with proper telephone etiquette
• Ability to provide medical services within the scope of licensing and training
