ABOUT THE JOB
MU Health Care is looking for a dynamic and visionary nursing leader to drive excellence in patient care, team performance, and daily operations as Manager of our Obstetrics / Labor and Delivery Department at our Capital Region Medical Center location. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead a high-performing team while strategically managing staffing, budgets, quality outcomes, and resources to ensure exceptional care for every patient. You’ll cultivate a culture of accountability, collaboration, professional growth, and well-being by empowering staff through coaching, development, recognition, and shared governance. As a champion of safety and continuous improvement, you’ll use data, evidence-based practices, and innovative solutions to elevate clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, employee engagement, and operational performance. You’ll also serve as a trusted leader and escalation point, partnering across disciplines to resolve challenges, strengthen regulatory readiness, and ensure the unit is prepared to meet the evolving needs of patients and families. If you’re ready to inspire others, shape the future of nursing, and make a lasting impact on the quality and experience of care, MU Health Care invites you to bring your leadership to this exciting opportunity.
Our ideal candidate would be an inspiring, compassionate, and collaborative nursing leader who brings a passion for exceptional maternal and newborn care and the ability to lead with confidence in a fast-paced, complex environment. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and relationship builder who can empower teams, foster trust, champion professional growth, and create a culture where patients, families, and caregivers feel supported, respected, and valued. A Master’s degree in business or a healthcare-related field is preferred, along with strong clinical experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum Care, Mother-Baby Nursing, NICU/Neonatal Care, and Pediatric Nursing. Candidates with expertise caring for premature or medically complex newborns, including neonatal respiratory support, neonatal IV therapy, and neonatal stabilization, will bring valuable depth to this leadership role. We’re seeking a leader who combines clinical expertise with sound judgment, emotional intelligence, accountability, and a commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care. If you are energized by the opportunity to develop exceptional teams and help shape outstanding outcomes for mothers, babies, and families, MU Health Care wants your leadership and expertise on our team.
