Patient Care Tech I - PCT - Geriatric Psych / Pain Management

Full time - 36 hours - Day shift

The Johns Hopkins Hospital Meyer 6 Geriatric Psychiatry/Pain Treatment Unit provides specialized care for medically complex geriatric patients with severe mood and neuropsychiatric disorders, as well as individuals with intractable pain conditions. This unique unit includes 9 geriatric psychiatry beds, 11 pain treatment beds, and two partial hospitalization programs serving as step-down services. Nurses deliver comprehensive care focused on symptom management, psychological support, and improving physical functioning in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Patient Care Techs at The Johns Hopkins Hospital provide highly skilled and compassionate patient- and family-centered care as contributing members of the healthcare team. Ongoing education is provided to all Patient Care Technicians to ensure that all techs perform at the highest level of their certification and scope of practice. During your first year, you will have the opportunity to attend eight days of training off the unit, which provide interactive learning activities to support your personal and professional development.

• Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Active Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) in Maryland is required.
• One year of clinical experience e.g., home care, outpatient, acute care (hospital preferred) technician experience during the most recent two years in a setting relevant to the unit.
• BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted.

Salary Range: Minimum 18.41/hour - Maximum 27.70/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
