A not-for-profit organization, UHS is located in the Southern Tier of Upstate New York and provides Primary and Specialty Care services across Broome, Chenango, Delaware, and Tioga counties.

UHS Spine Care & Pain Relief is recruiting an Attending Interventional Spine Physician to support growth and succession planning in non-operative spine care. This is an excellent opportunity for a board-certified/board-eligible physician with residency training in Anesthesia, along with fellowship training in Pain Medicine.

This practice benefits from a strong regional referral base and a large, established primary care network within our system to support our specialists. The team currently includes two interventional spine physicians, five advanced practice providers, one clinical psychologist, and one social worker, performing over 4,000 interventional procedures and 24,000 clinic visits annually.

The candidate will perform a full range of non-operative/interventional spine care procedures, including fluoroscopy-guided spine injections, radiofrequency ablation, spinal cord stimulation, and other advanced interventional techniques.

The position is primarily based in Binghamton, NY, with outreach clinics in Norwich and Walton. Procedures are performed in a hospital-sponsored, four-OR ambulatory surgery center adjacent to the clinic, offering excellent efficiency and an outstanding patient experience.

The practice is fully supported by a multidisciplinary team, including Physical Therapy specialists with expertise in spine and musculoskeletal care, five neurosurgeons performing comprehensive adult cranial and spine surgery, and a chiropractic team - all contributing to a collaborative, comprehensive approach to spine care.

Location

Binghamton, NY is located approximately 2.5 hours north of New York City and one hour from Syracuse, NY. It is a progressive university community offering a strong healthcare presence, a safe living environment, and a diverse community. The area features nearby lakes, ski resorts, golf courses, wineries, a symphony orchestra, and an opera company.

There are opportunities to teach residents and medical students from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, as well as to participate in clinical research. The position offers a competitive starting salary range of $470,000 - $595,000, along with excellent benefits, including a sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, malpractice insurance, and a robust retirement plan.

Formed in 1981 through the consolidation of three community hospitals, United Health Services Hospitals employs more than 7,000 people. As a teaching hospital affiliated with SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, and the Binghamton University Health Sciences Center, UHS trains over 100 physicians annually in residency and fellowship programs.
