Diabetology Fellowship - Hoag Health
The Hoag Diabetology Fellowship in Newport Beach, California, is the first program of its kind in Southern California, offering immersive, hands-on training in advanced diabetes technologies, complex patient care, and innovative treatment models - all within Orange County’s leading healthcare system.
This one-year program, recognized by the American College of Diabetology, is led by Program Director David Ahn, MD, alongside a distinguished faculty known for their excellence in diabetes management, cutting-edge research, and medical education.
Program Highlights
- Balanced outpatient and inpatient clinical experience
- Advanced training in GCM’s, insulin pumps, and emerging therapies
- Certification in implantable Eversense GCM procedures
- Clinical research and quality improvement opportunities
- Faculty mentorship
- Personalized, career-focused training tracks: outpatient, inpatient, cardiometabolic integration, population health/QI
- Graduates are eligible to sit for the American College of Diabetology (ACD) Board Examination
- Graduates would be equipped not just to treat diabetes - but to lead, innovate, and elevate diabetes care.
Eligibility
- Applicants must have completed an ACGME Accredited Internal Medicine Residency and be board eligible or certified in Internal Medicine.
- Applicants must be eligible to obtain an unrestricted California medical license prior to the beginning of fellowship training.
- We are unable to provide visa sponsorship at this time.
Salary & Benefits
- A competitive PGY4 level salary plus housing and educational stipends.
