Patient Service Rep - Ophthalmology - Honolulu, HI

Founded in 1921, Straub Benioff Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. Straub ophthalmologists, assisted by optometrists and certified ophthalmic technicians, provide a full range of eye care services for children and adults. These professionals are trained in the most up-to-date surgical procedures for treatment of cataracts, corneal disease, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, retinal disease and orbital disease. Straub offers total eye care complete with one-stop-shopping optical shops, including a full selection of glasses frames, lenses and contact lenses.

As a Patient Service Representative, you will help to ensure that Straub patients and their families receive warm, friendly and considerate assistance at Straub. You will act as a liaison between patients and the professional staff in our Ophthalmology department and assist with a variety of administrative tasks. These include interviewing, registering, admitting, updating and creating patients’ medical records; performing accurate and timely processing of all professional/technical fees generated by department providers; and performing cash handling and collection. We are looking for someone sensitive and helpful, with excellent communication and customer service skills, ability to work effectively under minimal supervision, and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.
